Discipline

 

Students are expected to follow the rules so that a positive learning environment can be maintained in our classroom. If a student is not following the rules or is interrupting the learning process, the following steps are taken:

 

Step 1: Verbal reminder from the teacher

Step 2: Name on the board

Step 3: Name and check mark—Student loses recess

Step 4: Name and 2 check marks—Student is given a noon                                detention

Step 5: Name and 3 check marks—Student is sent to the office

 

Other options, as deemed appropriate by the teacher:

 

Time out at the back of the room

Time out in the hall

Refocus with another teacher

Removal to the Principal’s or Superintendent’s office
