Band Points List 2011-2012

 

                     “C” Grade = 0-249 pts

                     “B” Grade = 250-499 pts

                     “A” Grade = 500 pts or more

 

Various Ways To Earn Points

 

Play a Scale

                Chromatic Scale = 500 pts

                Scale from Scale Sheet = 100 pts

 

500 pts – Play a Bass Clarinet or Bari Sax for the whole quarter in the Advanced Band only – must show proficiency at the assigned music and attend concert(s)

 

250 pts– Perfect  Attendance – No misses – No Excuses (except sickness  or death)

 

50-200 pts – Play a solo, duet, or small ensemble for a concert - points available depends upon the complexity of song (the song must be okayed by Mr. Smith)

 

100 pts – Play a solo, duet, or small ensemble for your church or some organization outside of the school

 

100 pts – play assigned band music with a minimum of 1 mistake, pass them at noon or before school

(100 pts per song)

 

100 pts – Play in a concert at Clinton School

 

100 Pts – Attend a Band related concert – Bring to Mr. Smith a concert program signed by your parent

 

50 pts – Take private lessons on your band instrument – 50 pts per lesson

 

25 pts – Those who volunteer to come in at noon hour for or practice time will earn 25 pts per noon hour – use sign up sheet

 

Practicing At Home – 10 pts for each 10 minutes - turn in a practice sheet
