· Homework Folders…. a variety of assignments will be coming home during the week….short stories, Math worksheets, Spelling and word lists. Also check for notes and school bulletins. Please return the next day in the durable maroon folder.
o On Fridays, I will also be sending home a brief behavior update along with work samples from the week.
· Spelling…..lists will come home on Monday, practice tests will be Wednesday, and the final test will be on Friday. Capitalization and punctuation also count on the Spelling sentences. If students pass with an E, they do not have to re-take the test on Friday. Practice these words every night….make it fun by practicing in the car, in the tub, at the dinner table, or even on the trampoline J

o Show and Tell F 12:30 …please notify the teacher before bringing “live” objects.
o Bonus Recess F 2:40-3:00…at the end of every week, we will have and extra recess for those who have behaved well and completed their work.
· Recesses….Fresh air is important for healthy minds and bodies! Staying indoors for recess is discouraged and students MUST have notes to stay in due to illness. During cold/wet weather, please send extra dry socks and shoes and make sure children are dressed appropriately….mittens, hats, boots, etc.
· Book orders….I will send in orders 3 or 4 times throughout the year. There is no obligation to purchase anything, but this is a way to buy inexpensive books for your family if you so desire. You will also be able to order and pay on-line if you wish to.
· Birthdays…students are invited to bring treats on the day of their birthday if desired. Students with summer birthdays will be assigned special dates in the spring. Please DO NOT send party invitations for delivery at school, as feelings are easily hurt if someone is left out.
