Not just ANY playground… OUR playground… designed by our children and built by our community . Leathers & Associates, the same designers of Dragon Hollow in Missoula , came to our school, captured the dreams of our local children, and designed a playground that will surely be enjoyed for generations. The kids named it Cougar Kingdom .
Cougar Kingdom will be constructed by local volunteers under the guidance of our 2 Leathers build coordinators and 10 local volunteer build captains. The playground will not only promote a healthy, active lifestyle for our children but it will also provide a safe place for children to play. Since it was designed by our children, it is a reflection of the unique character of the Clark Fork Valley and will fill a huge need for a community playground and park of this stature in our area.
Cougar Kingdom will cover approximately 8,000 square feet. It will be handicapped accessible and include a tot land, castle and maze structure with various slides, swings, and equipment for older kids as well as benches for parents and tables for family gatherings. Although we have an amazing group of residents, currently we lack a strong town center and the playground will be a great way to bring people together and strengthen our sense of community.
To make this huge playground a reality, though, we need your support . Whether it's volunteering your time or talents, or providing financial support , we're asking our community as well as neighboring communities to come together to make this exciting project possible.
Joining our crew of friendly people comes with lots of rewards. Through volunteering, you'll make new friends, meet your neighbors, learn new skills, and be a part of a once in a lifetime event that will capture the hearts of children in the Clark Fork Valley .
With our community working together, Cougar Kingdom will be built in just five days . The success of the project will depend on monetary donations (including grants and corporate sponsors), material donations and the commitment of approximately 1000 volunteers.
